HOW TO MEASURE YOUR FEET

STEP #1: Trace the Outline of Your Foot

Place your foot on a piece of paper, making sure to put your full body weight on the foot you are measuring. Trace the outline of your foot with a fine pencil, keeping the pencil vertical at all times.

STEP #2: Find the Longest Part of Your Foot

Next, measure the distance from the center of your heel to the tip of your big toe, or to the tip of your second toe if it is longer than your big toe.

STEP 3 Once you have measured the length of your foot, refer to the size chart alongside to find the size that fits you best.

  • Feet tend to swell slightly throughout the day, so it is best to measure them in the afternoon.
  • If your foot measurement falls between two sizes and you are unsure which one to choose, we recommend selecting the larger size.
  • Please note that the fit may vary depending on the shoe design, the type of leather, the heel height, and the circumference of your forefoot and instep.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR WOMEN’S TANGO SHOES

HEEL HEIGHT:

  • If you are a beginner, we recommend choosing a low heel (7 cm) for your first pair. If you are already comfortable wearing high heels, you may also consider a medium heel (8.5 cm).
  • For tango classes and practice sessions, we also recommend a Latin-style heel, which offers better balance and stability.
  • Once you have become more familiar with tango technique and comfortable dancing in heels, you can confidently move on to higher heels, including stiletto heels.

  • TOE COVERAGE:
  • In general, peep-toe designs are the most versatile option, as they tend to suit all foot types: regular, wide, and narrow.
  • Open-toe designs, on the other hand, are generally better suited to feet of regular width.
  • If you have bunions at the base of your toes, we recommend choosing peep-toe designs.
  • Closed-toe designs are recommended for beginners, as they help protect your toes from being stepped on. They are also a good choice if you have any particularities or concerns regarding your toes.

Open-toe and open-heel designs are best suited to dancers who already have some experience with Argentine Tango.

  • MATERIAL:
  • All Imagine Tango Shoes feature an inner lining made of genuine soft leather, allowing you to wear them comfortably and confidently, even for many hours at a time.
  • MATTE LEATHER: Matte leather shoes will gradually adapt to the shape of your feet after approximately one month of wear, becoming comfortable, soft, and perfectly fitted.
SUEDE LEATHER: Suede shoes offer an excellent fit from the very beginning, as suede is the softest of all leather types. For this reason, we recommend choosing a snug fit, either by selecting half a size smaller or opting for a peep-toe design.
PATENT LEATHER OR SATIN FABRIC: These materials are firmer and do not stretch or adapt significantly with wear. Therefore, we recommend choosing half a size larger.
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR MEN’S TANGO SHOES

1. Oxford Style

Oxford shoes feature a closed-lacing system, where the eyelet tabs are stitched beneath the vamp, creating a clean, formal appearance. The tongue is mostly concealed beneath the lacing. They are traditionally considered one of the most formal shoe styles and are commonly worn with suits and elegant outfits.

2. Derby Style

Derby shoes feature an open-lacing system, where the eyelet tabs are stitched on top of the vamp, leaving the tongue visible. The laces fasten through two separate leather panels. Derby shoes generally offer a more casual and versatile look.
Shoe Designs

Both Oxford and Derby shoes can also be classified according to their design:

1. Cap Toe

Features an additional leather panel across the front of the shoe, creating a distinct cap.

2. Wingtip

Features a decorative front panel shaped like a wing or the letter “W,” often extending along the sides of the shoe.

3. Plain Toe

Features a simple, smooth toe without an additional decorative cap. The front and main upper form a continuous piece, while the rear section is separate.

4. Brogues

Features decorative patterns made up of small perforations in the leather. Brogue detailing can appear on various shoe styles, including Oxford and Derby designs.
